CEREC
Now you can have porcelain inlays, onlays and crowns delivered in just
over an hour. Yes, no more second visit. No more temporaries
to worry about losing. No more gagging
impressions. With the use of a
3-D infrared camera, we can image the tooth and the surrounding
teeth. That information is fed into the CEREC acquisition
computer where the computer generates a 3-D image of the area we are
working on. Dr. Widen will then design the restoration with
the help of the computer. Once the final design is approved ,
just a few clicks of a button will send the information wirelessly
to the porcelain milling unit in the back room after choosing the
proper color for the restoration. The milling unit will mill the
restoration out of a solid block of porcelain within 15
minutes. It will then be tried in the mouth, polished or
glazed and prepared for bonding. Once the restoration is
bonded in place it is cleaned, adjusted and
polished. You get to leave
with a brand new porcelain restoration, without waiting 2 weeks for
the lab to make it, gagging on impressions, and worrying if that
temporary will stay in your mouth. If you need
work, CEREC may be an option for you. Give us a call at

Safer
and Faster X-rays
Since
1994, we have
implemented state-of-the-art Computed Dental Radiography or CDR so you
can get the necessary care without unnecessary radiation. X-rays
play an invaluable role in the diagnosis of dental problems. We need
to have a complete set of X-rays to completely diagnose a guest's
needed care but many people are concerned about exposure to x-ray
radiation. CDR eliminates these worries because it requires 90% less
radiation than conventional film x-rays. So a complete set of X-Rays
(18 films) has the radiation of only 2-3 conventional
films. It is as accurate as conventional
x-rays and even reveals things film can't. The CDR image can be
magnified 300 times its normal size to enhance diagnosis,
manipulated to correct contrast, and color-adjusted to reveal hidden
problems. We can measure things more accurately and back-light teeth
to see things that never could be seen with conventional
film. CDR images are instantaneous. Once
the sensor is exposed to X-rays the image is sent directly to the
computer monitor. The image is seen in a matter of seconds. Dr.
Widen can be in a different room viewing the X-rays as they are
taken, to free up more time to discuss the treatment options with
you. No time is wasted processing and mounting x-ray film. So our
staff spends less time in the dark room and more time with you,
discussing the health of your
teeth. The Schick CDR system uses no film
or chemicals, so we don't have to worry about disposing of hazardous
processing waste or smelling the developer and fixer solutions
anymore! That's good news for the you and the
environment. Additionally, CDR x-rays are
covered under your basic x-ray benefits, so there's no reduction in
your insurance benefits. So please allow us to
take the necessary X-rays to get the whole picture and make an
accurate diagnosis.
Laser Cavity Detection

Our office uses the latest
equipment for detecting even the smallest amount of decay. Because
of fluoride the enamel of our teeth is stronger and sometimes hides
the fact that there is decay underneath. Through microcracks,
bacteria and food start the decay process undetectable to clinical
examination and x-rays, until it gets much larger. With this new
device we can detect a small amount of decay and place a smaller
filling, conserving vital tooth structure.
